Social media has been buzzing about a purported 2019 Grammy winners list.
The list which has been in circulation was allegedly leaked on
Twitter and attached to the list is a video that shows alleged winners
from the Recording Academy’s website.
The list also claims to have seen a deeper list of winners from a
supposed hack of the site but in its reaction, the Recording Academy
has reportedly also reached out to their legal team about potential
legal action.
In a statement shared with Billboard, the Recording Academy spokesperson says:
“There is no legitimacy to this. Grammy Awards results are not
shared, even with Recording Academy staff members, until the day of the
Grammy Awards ceremony, when names of the recipients are delivered by
Deloitte in sealed envelopes.”
The 2019 Grammy is scheduled to take place next month and some of
music biggest names will contend for the awards. The Grammy awards is
considered one of the highest honours in music.
