On this day, 15 years ago, a 20-year-old Harvard dropout Mark
Zuckerberg had just developed theFacebook, an app which helps college
students to connect with friends across their schools. Today, it is
worth N24.7 trillion ($68.5 billion).
Here is something to inspire you:
Your dreams are valid
Zuckerberg claims he only wanted to solve a problem in college when
he started out. Today, Facebook has over 2 billion monthly active users.
Whatever the mind can conceive, it can achieve.
Find a motivation
In 1962, Bill Clinton, a senior secondary school student met with
John F. Kennedy in Washington, D.C. at a special youth leadership
conference. This experience left an impression on him. Not everyone will
meet with the president. Read up on success stories of the greatest
achievers in your field. Find out their strategies and challenges.
Create value
In simple terms, be a problem solver. What is it you want to fill? People want a simpler life. Re-evaluate your processes.
Network
Building a network is as important as the business itself. Develop
sustainable relationships with authorities in your career path as they
will be useful in terms of recommendation and knowledge.
Embrace opportunities
Talent is good but if not groomed properly will become mediocre. For
every idea thought out, there are five or more people around the globe
with the same idea. When if you feel like giving up, remember excuses
abound because opportunities dress up as challenges. While you are at
it, devise ways of working smart.
Maintain Integrity
It is easy to derail if you are not self-disciplined. However,
businesses that have outlived their owners is not because of any magic
but because one of the main criteria for their success is integrity.
When people identify you and your business as one with integrity,
advertising becomes easier.
