The Peoples Democratic Party’s
senatorial candidate for Anambra South, Chief Chris Uba, has officially
commenced his campaign for the February 16 election.
Uba began his campaign with a town hall
meeting with the people of Ekwusigo and Nnewi North local government
areas of the state on Monday.
He asked his supporters to vote for the
presidential candidate of the party in the February 16 election, Atiku
Abubakar, and his running mate, Peter Obi.
He said a vote for the PDP would put smiles on the faces of Nigerians once again.
He said, “Obi did well in Anambra State as a governor and he has the capacity and knowledge to make Nigeria work again.
“ I’m here to assure you that victory is for the PDP in the February elections. Nothing can stop us.”
Uba said his decision to seek a seat at the Senate was to provide effective representation for his people.
He said those who had represented the
district at various times, including his elder brother, Andy Uba, did
not live up to expectations.
He said, “I am tired of being a kingmaker. I want to be the king myself now to put smiles on the faces of the people.
“What I am telling you today is that you should keep your PVCs ready for next month’s elections.”
